Great Plains Industries Turns 50 Years Old

GPI is celebrating its 50th anniversary. In November of 1968, ASC (Aerospace Systems and Components) and GPI founder Charlie Peer and his co-founders, Ken Rix and Lyle Koontz's first business location was a small 700 sq. ft. office located on West Central in Wichita, KS. In 1972 Great Plains Industries was incorporated and began the business of manufacturing evaporative coolers for farm tractor cabs. Serving the farm industry eventually led to GPI producing fuel transfer pumps, starting with 'The Gas Master'.

In 2013, GPI added the FLOMEC brand to expand into chemical and water metering applications.

From these humble beginnings, GPI has grown to operate in a 178,000 sq. ft. facility in Northeast Wichita with 240 employees!

Here's to the NEXT 50 years!
