MORE THAN PRODUCT.
WE ARE A FAMILY OF INNOVATION.
Great Plains Industries was built by an engineer, and that mindset still defines who we are today. Founded by Charlie Peer, Great Plains Industries began as the result of turning a career setback into an opportunity, ultimately growing into a family-owned company now led by its third generation.
Charlie launched his first business in 1968 by designing an air-mixing valve for Learjet. As the aviation industry shifted, he looked for more stable markets and saw an opportunity in agriculture. At a regional farm show, he and his team introduced an evaporative cab-cooling system for combines, along with a small transfer pump. That pump would become the foundation for what Great Plains Industries is known for today.
Driven by continuous innovation and a strong entrepreneurial spirit, Great Plains Industries has grown into the home of the GPI®, GPRO®, and FLOMEC® brands. Together, these brands serve industrial, commercial, and retail customers across fuel transfer, agriculture, chemicals, manufacturing, construction, mining, oil and gas, and beyond - wherever reliability, accuracy, and durability matter.
In 2013, Great Plains Industries expanded globally with the acquisition of Trimec Industries in Sydney, Australia, a leading manufacturer of positive displacement oval gear, insertion, and impeller flow meters, ancillary flow hardware, and dedicated electronic flow instrumentation. Now operating as Great Plains Industries Australia, the organization supports markets across Asia and Europe. Both Great Plains Industries locations share a reputation for engineering excellence, long-lasting products, and strong customer relationships rooted in family ownership, hard work, and shared Midwestern and “Down Under” values.
Today, Great Plains Industries is positioned for the future. Backed by our holding company, Great Plains Ventures, we continue to invest in advanced manufacturing, product development, and people while actively pursuing strategic acquisitions that strengthen our capabilities and reach.
