HEALTH & WELLNESS PROGRAMS

GPV Gym

Great Plains Industries employees have access to the GPV gym, open during the week, offering a range of classes from bootcamp to yoga during lunch and after work, as well as open gym hours. Classes are taught by members of GPV's wellness team or streamed via the YMCA Virtual Platform, Y360. Those who attend twelve or more classes in a month join the GPV Gym's Committed Club. To support employees who exercise during the day, toiletries are available for freshening up before returning to work.
GPV Health Fair

One of the most unique events for employees at GPV subsidiaries is the annual GPV Health Fair. This event features local businesses that provide information on various wellness topics. Employees do not have to clock out to attend the fair, can enter to win great prizes and can have a great time learning about what options exist in the health and wellness industry.

Lunch & Learn Sessions

Throughout the year, GPV hosts monthly Lunch & Learn sessions, addressing a variety of topics, from physical and mental health to financial well-being. These sessions take place during lunch, with meals provided, offering valuable resources to employees.

Wellness Competitions

At Great Plains Industries, we love a good challenge! GPV offers several competitions to help employees improve their health.

  • Maintain, Don't Gain: During the holiday season, employees earn prices by maintaining their weight through weekly weigh-ins.
  • Walking Challenge: Employees form teams and track their steps, competing to have the most steps each week.
  • Couch to 5K: In increasing increments, participants progress from couch potato to 5K runner! Twice a week, sessions are led by GPV's wellness department after work, with the third being a solo session.
  • Pull a Plane: Great Plains Industries teams up with ASC, Powdertech and GPV to form a team to pull the legendary DOC B-29 airplane, weighing 80,000 pounds. Up against other local teams, it's all about time! This event is a fundraiser for the WSU Tech Foundation and also supports student-focused initiatives.
  • Fun tournaments like Poker Walk, Cornhole, Disc Golf, and Free Throw competitions. Employees compete for bragging rights and a prize.

While these competitions add quite an element of fun to the workday, they also encourage employees to improve their health in big and small ways!
