Replaced another leaky Fill-Rite

This is the second Fill-Rite replacement I have bought, and I am a big fan. I got tired of rebuilding the Fill-Rite pumps that came on my 30-gallon Handy gas caddies. Bought my first GPI replacement about 3-4 years ago and it has been a strong performer. When the second Fill-Rite pump sprung an aggressive leak the replacement with a GPI was a no-brainer. Best part is - this one is even smoother and easier to turn than the last generation. Plus, it's made in the USA! Thanks GPI!

Hi Rick,

Thanks for the awesome review! That's what we like to hear :)

How do you prime it?

I have a RP-10 hand pump. Does it self prime because I can’t seem to get any gas coming through. I can hand crank forever and nothing. And yes, I am cranking clockwise, which is the direction of the arrow on the pump.

Hello. Could you call our Product Support Team @800-835-0113 M-F 9 am- 5 pm CST?
They can ask you several questions to determine what is causing the issue and get you up and running.

Thank you!

will pump

performs as advertised, hopefully, this one won't suffer internal failure from corrosion, as the last one did

Hi Howard,

RP stands for Rotary Pump, not Reversible Pump. This has always been its name. The RP-10 has an integrated anti-siphon vent on top of the pump to prevent the pump from operating in reverse and backflowing potentially contaminated fuels back to the storage tank. It has included this feature since the introduction of the product.

There have been OEM applications over the years that have defeated the anti-siphon vent on the pump in order to put the product on applications where reverse flow was desired. This is not a modification that is recommend by GPI for common applications.
