STANDARD VS ECONOMY VERSIONS
The EZ-8 (8 GPM) and M-150S (15 GPM) are two of the most popular 12-volt gear pumps for truck-mounted fuel tanks. Compact and efficient, they deliver flow rates comparable to standard gas station pumps (8-10 GPM), making refueling fast and convenient. Both models come in Standard and Economy versions.
The key difference between the Economy and Standard versions is their mounting style.
FEATURE HIGHLIGHTS
ECONOMY MODELS
(DIRECT MOUNT)
- With a direct-mount design, the whole pump is rotated to thread into the tank.
- Directional adjustment may require Teflon tape.
- If the tank’s mounting hole is close to the truck’s rear window, you may need to temporarily reposition the tank to get the pump facing the right way.
STANDARD MODELS
(UNION RING/BUNG ADAPTER - SPIN COLLAR)
- Uses a union ring and a separate bung adapter.
- Bung adapter threads into the tank first; the pump is then positioned and secured using the union ring.
- Easier to install in tight spaces and allows precise orientation without rotating the whole pump.
- The bung adapter also acts as a safety breakaway point. If the hose gets caught while driving off, the adapter is designed to break—protecting both the pump and the tank from costly damage. This makes repairs quicker and less expensive compared to replacing a damaged pump or tank.
