Oval Gear Meter in Agricultural Chemical Mixing

Oval Gear Meter in Agricultural Chemical Mixing

 DOWNLOAD APPLICATION BRIEF

Many farmers prefer to mix their Agricultural Chemicals onsite rather than buying premixed chemicals. To do this, the farmer purchases chemical concentrates, then mixes them with water and sometimes other chemicals based at precise ratios called out in recipes. This offers several advantages, including:

  • Adjusting chemical blends to field conditions such as wind and soil conditions
  • Adjusting the batch size based on field size
  • Storing concentrates takes up less space than storing premixed chemicals

To mix chemicals safely and effectively, it is important to measure the chemicals and water accurately. FLOMEC meters are an excellent choice when choosing an accurate flow meter for agricultural chemical mixing.

Meter Requirements:

  • Meter should be installed between the chemical or water tank and the valve

Product Specification:

  • Accurate to within 0.5% of flow rate with clean, viscous fluids, unaffected by temperature changes
  • No flow conditioning required (straight pipe runs) - can be placed directly after pumps or valves with no effect on accuracy
  • Robust - made with PPS body and Rotors with no bearings
  • Wide flow range
  • Low pressure drop
  • For manual operation, a display must be included
  • For automatic valve control, the meter must have a pulse output (Reed switch or Hall Effect Sensor) for use with batch controllers and other controllers

Product Solution:

FLOMEC Oval Gear chemical meters are well suited for this application, whether your manually mixing based on displayed totals or using a batch controller to operate valves automatically based on preprogrammed volumes.

This meter is available in 1" size with a local display for manual mixing. It is also available without a display and pulse output (combination Reed Switch and Hall Effect Sensor) for use with batch controllers for semiautomated mixing.
