AC Motor Hot Drop Assembly

As part of the launch of the V20 20 GPM fuel transfer pump, GPI invested approximately $500,000 to enhance its manufacturing capabilities by bringing A/C motor production in-house. This investment included the acquisition of an advanced A/C Motor Hot Drop System, featuring rotor and stator assembly machines. Utilizing thermal expansion, the system precisely heats the rotor and stator housing with induction coils, ensuring a perfect fit at consistent axial positions. After assembly, air jets cool the components, shrinking them securely in place. By early Q4 2024, GPI has successfully produced over 18,500 rotor and stator assemblies, driving efficiency and innovation in fuel transfer pump manufacturing.

AUTOMATED MAGNET GLUING SYSTEM FOR DC MOTORS

The Automated Magnet Gluing System for DC motors enhances production capacity. By automating the process, it not only eliminates worker exposure to messy chemicals, creating a cleaner more pleasant work environment, but also greatly improves quality and efficiency while reducing operator fatigue and risk of injury. This system supports both current and future demand for DC products.

CALIBRATOR 10

Calibrator 10 is a water-based system that ensures our flow meters deliver accurate and reliable performance. It performs multi-point calibration, capturing precise flow data and programming it into the meter's display for optimal use. With the ability to handle five line sizes and flow rates ranging from 0.3 to 270 GPM, this system replaced three older calibrators, streamlining our calibration process for G2, TM, A1, FM300 and G-Series meters. Our standards are traceable to NIST, and we certify that all testing meets iengineering design and specifications, guaranteeing dependable flow measurement for every application.

WORKSMART MANUFACTURING ASSEMBLY CELL SYSTEM

At GPI, employee safety and well-being are top priorities to ensure both quality and productivity. In December 2023, GPI introduced the Worksmart Manufacturing Assembly Cell System on the V20 fuel transfer pump line. This innovative system uses a track with trunnion carts, allowing operators to easily maneuver the pump throughout the build process without the need to lift it—especially as it reaches up to 50 lbs toward the end. Employees have praised the system for making their work easier, safer, and more manageable.
